Three Women Dead After Accident In Trelawny With A Toyota Coaster And Nissan Tida (Graphic Content)

2013-01-02Three women are dead this evening following a motor vehicle accident along the braco main road in trelawny. The victims were in a motor car which collided with a coaster bus transporting tourists, some of whom also suffered injuries. A wailing ambulance, A mangled vehicle, The braco main road in trelawny; the scene of yet another accident. This red nissan tiida was heading towards falmouth with five persons on board. Cvm news understands that they were heading to the airport as some were departing the island. It's not certain what happened, but the driver seemingly lost control of the vehicle which skidded and slammed into this toyota coaster bus. It's believed the road was wet at the time of the accident as there was a light shower of rain earlier. The bus which was registered to tour company juta was transporting around 20 tourists who were heading to st. Ann from the falmouth cruise ship pier. A bottle of water along with broken glass littered its inside. The injured tourist was reportedly taken to hospital. Later we saw some leaving the falmouth hospital. Some were treated for minor injuries. For the most part they were seemingly in good health and spirits. No such fortunes for the occupants of the tiida. One woman who was in the vehicle died on the spot. Here a police officer searches through a purse near the woman's body. Up to newstime we had not ascertained her identity. Cvm news understands two others who were travelling in the back of the tiida were rushed to hospital however they later died. The condition of the other two persons is unknown at this point, however onlookers told us they appeared badly injured. There was a pile up of traffic for several minutes along the road way as traffic police processed the scene. Meanwhile, residents in braco are calling for the authorities to address the issue of speeding in the area. They are also concerned about the state of the roadway whenever it rains. They are also calling for more frequent police spot checks in the area. Monday morning's accident has yielded the first reported deaths of 2013. The road safety unit reported that 256 persons were killed in traffic accidents in 2012. Of this number 43 were females. "report foro CVM news at 8..."
